Spine Surgery
Bharati Hospital’s Spine Surgery Department, a leading Spine Surgery Hospital in Pune, offers comprehensive care for spinal conditions ranging from trauma and tumours to deformities and degenerative disorders. Backed by experienced orthopaedic and neurosurgical faculty, advanced operating systems, and real-time neuromonitoring, our team delivers precision surgery across the entire spine—from the craniovertebral junction to the sacrum. With a focus on rapid recovery and minimally invasive techniques, we prioritise both outcomes and patient comfort
Overview
Established as a standalone department in 2019, the Spine Surgery unit at Bharati Hospital evolved from a combined orthopaedic-neurosurgical programme into a high-volume specialty center. The department provides advanced diagnostic and surgical interventions for a wide range of spinal pathologies including trauma, tumours, infections, congenital anomalies, degenerative disc disease, and spinal deformities.
With approximately 30 major spinal surgeries performed each month and daily outpatient consultations, the department has become a referral center for complex spine cases across Maharashtra. Our multidisciplinary approach ensures collaboration between surgeons, radiologists, physiotherapists, and critical care specialists for comprehensive spine care.

FAQs
Is spine surgery risky?
Spine surgery carries a low risk when performed by experts. The risk of paralysis is less than 0.5% and most patients recover without major complications.
Will I be on bed rest after surgery?
Not necessarily. Most patients are mobilised the day after surgery thanks to modern techniques and faster recovery protocols.
Is spine surgery expensive?
Costs vary by procedure type and implant selection. Simple surgeries are affordable, while complex deformity corrections may cost more.
Is surgery covered under insurance or government health schemes?
Yes. Most spinal procedures are covered under insurance policies and government programmes, except some congenital cases.
Are all spine conditions treated surgically?
No. Many conditions can be managed conservatively. Surgery is advised only when necessary, and always tailored to your specific condition.
